01.10.1984 Town Council MinutesJanuary 10, 1964 The Prosper City Council met in regular session Tuesday January 10, 1964 at 7:00 P. M. in the city office with all members present. Mayor John Cockrell called the meeting to order and asked for a reading of the minutes. They were approved with the addition of the sentence " pending legal approval" to motion #4- The council reviewed the expenditures for December and the audit report. Motion by Doyce Stanton to accept the audit report. Second Johnny Johnson and passed unanimously. City Engineer, Colleen Ward brought to the council maps of the Sewer System and the City proper; also a preliminary copy of the Zoning Ordinance. Colleen presented a proposal to prepare a Water Systems map at a cost of $1606.00 (proposal attached). Motion to accept proposal by Doyce Stanton. Second Cecil Norris and passed unanimously. Motion by Doyce Stanton to retain the services of John Shampton as City Attorney. Second Cecil Norris and passed unan- imously. JbIhn Shampton addressed the council concerning procedures of annexation and establishing a Municipal Court. Motion by John Christie to employ Linda Grumbles as City Secretary, Tax A/C, at a salary of $1000.00 per month plus insurance on self only. Second Cecil Norris and passed unanimously. The council set forth the following rules. (1). Office hours: 9:00 A. M. to 12:00 P. M.--1:00 P. M. to 3:00 P. M. (2). Errands to run after office hours if possible. (3). One week vacation the first year; two weeks there- after. Motion by Cecil Norris to give Christmas Bonuses of $100.00 to Vennie Spradley and Robert Shackelford' and $25.00 to Marian Holbrook.
