02.12.1980 Town Council MinutesCouncil Meeting February 12, 1930 The Prosper City Council met in regular session February 12., 1930 at 7:00 P.M. in the city office with the following members present: Mayor, ""alph Boyer Councilpersons Vera Clary,, Don Reneau, Grady Smothermon, and Danny Webb. The Mayor opened the meeting and asked for a reading of the minutes of the preceeding meeting. They were approved. The financial report was read by the Mayor and attention called to the list of checks written during the month of January. The report was accepted. Use of the funds from Revenue Sharing was discussed. Don Reneau said the Fire Department would like to have some of the money to repair the fire truck. The Mayor said he had no objection* Grady Smothemon moved to spend funds to have the fire truck repaired. Seconded by Danny Webb and carried unanimously. A statement from ,the audit report was read by the Mayor.and the report re- viewed. A motion was made by Grady Smothemon to pay Kissinger and Williams $1.000.00 for the audit from the general fund. Seconded by Don "eneau and carried unanimously. A report from the Budget Committee was called for and Danny Webb said no work had been done as yet. The Mayor offered to meet with the committee to get the project underway. A motion was made by Don Reneau that the secretary write a letter to Ruth Settle to have the sewage drainage problem from houses on Broadway remedied., and if nothing is done by the next meeting, to take further steps (ie) c2 contacting County Health Officials6 Sedonded by Danny Webb and carried. The Mayor signed the Proclamation ordering a city election and appointed Willette Skelton as presiding judge. Motion was made by Danny Webb to . hold said election April 5., 1930. Seconded by Vera Clary and carried. The council elected to leave the ballots as is with Places 1 . 21 3., for candidates. The Workman Compensation Insurance payment was tabled until the policy comes thru with a break down of costs, Motion was made by Danny Webb that no exceptions were to be made concermnirM- meter deposits,, after Mrs. Stroope requested to not have her son make a deposit because they already had three meter deposits on record* Seconde by it Reneau and passed unanimousy. I Grady Smothemon moved to hire Marian Holbrook as city secretary at the salary of R465-00 a month. Seconded by Vera Clary and passed. Danny Webb Introduced a resolution that the Zoning Committee is now in effect and will pick up on the old ordinancemaking corrections whore nedess ary., ,,2- ki Don Reneau seconded and it carried* A motion was made by Grady Smothermon that permission be granted to Jack Per for non -conforming use of property on Seventh St. with the Zoning Committee to follow up. Don Reneau seconded and carried.
