A separate work session for the focus group was set for Monday, September 26, at 6:00 p.m. via Teams to conduct the focus group activity. The CEC will also be asked to respond to an online survey to provide feedback on the Town's existing website. 6. Review Work Plan/Activity Schedule (CS) [Discuss/Decide] Christine Strobush reviewed the CEC Work Plan and the Committee discussed upcoming activities. The Committee discussed the creation of engagement guidelines for each of the event they attend to have a more structured approach for gathering feedback from residents as well as CEC members, and also to decide whether the presence of the CEC at a particular event is necessary and valuable. Chris Wardlaw, Grant Mendeljian and Shy Tottress agreed to form a work group for this idea and bring forward a proposed strategy and framework at a future meeting. The Committee decided to add the updated Work Plan to the agenda packet each month so it will be available for review prior to each meeting. The Committee asked the Councilmembers who were present to define their expectations for the CEC. Responses included being available to serve on focus groups for specific Town projects, connecting with the community, and building relationships with residents. The question arose regarding how the CEC will measure their success. The Communications staff captures data in the monthly departmental report; however, the Committee expressed a desire to have a deeper discussion of what success for the CEC looks like. This item will be brought forward on a future Page 2 of 3 meeting agenda for discussion.
