The meeting was called to order by Matt Furay, Secretary at 6:00 p.m.

2. Consider and act upon the draft minutes from the May 12, 2022, Parks and Recreation
Board meeting.

3. Consider and act upon the draft minutes from the June 9, 2022, Parks and Recreation
Board meeting.
Minutes approved.
4. Comments by the Public.
There were no comments made by the public.
5. Receive staff updates:
Recreation Update:
Trevor Helton introduced new staff members Cecilee Fannon and Brant Holland. Helton
detailed their responsibilities within the Town. He then reported the summer events and
summer program numbers. Benson was complimentary of the programs and mentioned a
group from his neighborhood came out to support our Discover Downtown: Boots on
Broadway event. Helton stated that there will be a slightly different schedule for 2023
events, doing the best to avoid June, July, and August. Reeves was complimentary of the

Discover Downtown: Fun in the Sun event saying he believed it was an appropriate event
for that time of year. Baker replied that we may look to change the timing due to potential
issues with water conservation during that time of the year.
Park Development Update:
Naughton provided updates on park and trail development to include Cambridge Park
Estates, Phase 1; Cambridge Park Estates, Phase 2; Elementary #15; Star Meadow Park;
Tanner's Mill Park; & Town Hall Honor Wall.
Park Operations Update:
Furr provided updates on Park Operations and struggles with the drought. He also updated
the Parks and Recreation Board on the start of PYSC programs.
Director's Update:
Baker commented on the great job staff was doing, even with the challenges that the
summer heat has brought. Baker also discussed the upcoming Parks Tour and asked for
consideration on a November tour allowing the new Parks and Recreation Board Members
to settle in starting October. The November tour would begin at 4:00 p.m. due to the
sunsetting at 5:28 p.m. Dan offered a spring tour date opportunity and will email Park and
Recreation Board Members asking for their preference on tour dates. Baker mentioned that
the December Parks and Recreation Board Meeting will be canceled due to a conflict with
the Boards and Commissions reception.
