Box 1060 Prosper, Texas 75078 972-346-3397 FAX: 972-347-9601 Minutes of Thursday October 3, 2002 Prosper Economic Development Corporation Prosper Economic Development Corporation met for its regular monthly meeting, Thursday, October 3, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Annex,111 Wj Broadway, Prosper, Texas. The meeting was called to order by Jim Herblin, EDC board chairman. Members in attendance were Jim Herblin, Dan Tolleson, Russell Kaker and Erica Kruckenberg. Also present were Judy Rucker, EDC Facilitator and Janet Phillips. Motion to accept Consent Items was made by Dan Tolleson and seconded by Russell Kaker. Minutes: None, since the last meeting was a closed Executive Meeting. Financial Report: Reconciliation Detailed report shows all accounts balanced as of October 2, 2002. Accounts at First State Bank of Celina were closed and money moved to Prosper State Bank as of October 2, 2002 (Attachment). Judy Rucker reported that $499,286.62 was deposited in Prosper State Bank, on September 24, 2002. Jennifer Finley, City Administrator transferred $479,286.62 to TexPool on September 30, 2002. A joint meeting with Mesa, City Council and EDC was discussed. The date of October 29, 2002 was approved as the meeting date. Jim Herblin encouraged all members of the EDC to be present for this meeting. Judy Rucker gave an update on the Centennial Celebration for October 19, 2002. All plans are going ahead as scheduled. The Centennial Committee will meet again on Oct. 9 and 16, to finalize all plans. The committee has been very active and very cooperative through out thcjV#jpff"erTAfi.RRMWittee consists of Bill Hays, Kari and Sug Dalton, Ginny F�sn�aca� #016etty Hughes, Sandra Lindorm Bill Proctor, Steve and Sondra Chanuell, J. E. Robison, and Lloyd and Judy Rucker. The committee is still seeking donations from the public. H.B. 3178 requires the Texas Department of Economic Development, in conjunction with the attorney general and the Comptroller's office, to develop a training seminar for members of cities' economic development corporation to attend one of a series of statewide training seminars on the proper us of sales tax revenues. The dates and sites were reviewed: Judy Rucker will attend the seminar January 24, 2003 in Abilene, Texas. Other members will attend later in the year. The EDC board discussed and instructed Judy Rucker, Facilitator, to'begin working to establish a Chamber of Commerce for Prosper. Also, they instructed- Ms. ' Ruck er to check out information concerning a Free Trade Zone for industry in the Prosper area. Meeting adjourned at 8:10 P.M.
