Focus Areas:
1.Overall Railroad Improvements –Establish
context
2.Challenges
•Normal School Day
•Event Day –Existing Conditions, During
Construction; After Frontier Parkway Paving
and Grade Separation completed
3.Key Considerations
•Safety
•Efficient traffic movement
Recommended Improvements
1.Live Stream Monitoring
2.Quiet Zoning
3.Grade Separations
4.Signs/Pavement Marking Upgrade
5.Possible Commuter Rail
Next Step:
•Engineering Contract
On the Horizon:
•Signs/Marking Contract
•Thoroughfare Plan Amendment
•Funding Request
Minimizing Impact of BNSF
RECOMMENDATIONS
1.Fence the BNSF R/W near the School to minimize trespasser incidents. Needs to be
completed at/before opening.
2.Consider alternate access for First Responders
3.Consider alternatives to cross between the Prosper High School and the Athletic Facilities
•Short-and Long-term Solutions (bus shuttle, pedestrian bridge; grade crossing tough to
make happen)
•Opportunity to reduce demand on Frontier Parkway
4.Coordinate with all parties to synchronize plan for special events.
•Creative traffic operations (one-way between Stadium and DNT; clear routing directions)
•BNSF Coordination
5.Initiate coordination with PISD (Operations, Funding, Coordination of Efforts); Follow with
Celina
