Conduct a Public Hearing,and receive comments on the proposed Drainage Design Standards.(SG) “a place where everyone matters” Drainage Design Standards The purpose of the standards is to provide guidance for developers and engineers regarding drainage and storm sewer design so that land will be improved in a way that it: •Does not adversely impact the life safety and welfare of the general public, •Protects and improves water quality, •Protects aquatic resources,and •Mitigates flood and erosion related damage to private and public property including lakes and streams within the community;while allowing economic development and growth within the Town and Extraterritorial Jurisdiction. 1.Summary of Prosper Developers Council Comments with Responses Major Amendments/Additions •Updated Hydrology design standards to follow current Engineering practice. •Detailed criteria regarding storm frequency and methodology for the purposes of design calculations. •The original ordinance discusses aesthetics of detention/retention ponds. This is not included in the new Design Standards since it is addressed in the •landscaping section of the Zoning Ordinance (will be discussed on later slide). •Appeal process, Town participation process, and the requirement for compliance with standards prior to acceptance of the development will be added to the general section of the Engineering Design Manual.
