Call to Order/Roll Call This meeting was called to order at 6:08 p.m. Committee Members Present: Rodolfo Sierra, Chair Christine Strobush, Vice -Chair Brent Kirby Grant Mendeljian Maona Ngwira Shy Tottress Committee Members Absent: Josh Carson James Creedon Ashleigh Hughes Kim Loveland Councilmembers Present: Councilmember Amy Bartley Councilmember Jeff Hodges Councilmember Marcus Ray Minutes Community Engagement Committee Wednesday, March 2, 2022 - 6:00 p.m. Staff Members Present: Robyn Battle, Executive Director of Community Services Haley Alsabrook, Community Engagement Specialist Jessika Hotchkin, Help Desk Technician 1 2. Approve Minutes from February 2, 2022 [Decide] Rodolfo Sierra made a motion and Christine Strobush seconded the motion to approve the minutes from February 2, 2022. The motion was approved. 3. Logo and Rebranding Project Update [Inform] The recommendation for allocating Town resources on a modernized, updated Town logo and developing brand and design standards for the consistent use of the logo was presented to Council and was approved. Robyn Battle has contacted a vendor previously used by the Town. Options will be presented to Council at a future meeting. Page 1 of 2 4. New Resident Letter [Discuss/Decide] This item was not discussed. 5. New Resident Mixer [Discuss/Decide] The consensus of the Committee is the New Resident Mixer will begin as a bi- annual event. The mixer will be held in the Town Hall south parking lot and south lawn and will launch in September 2022. The event will be similar to an ice cream social with either an ice cream or Kona Ice truck. The members proposed including entertainment such as inviting a Prosper ISD band to perform, renting a bounce house and having a fire and police presence. Town representatives and guests may include the EDC Director, school board members, Council, and HOA board members. Each household will receive a swag bag, including Town and vendor items. The Committee members agreed that next steps include briefing the Council on the proposal and receiving feedback and direction. 6. Discussion of Recent and Future Events [Inform/Discuss] Rodolfo Sierra and Councilmember Marcus Ray attended the Fishing Derby on February 19. The consensus was that it was a well -attended event with over 200 fish caught. Over by the western pavilion, Rodolfo saw children using the grass as a slide and a few fell in the water. It was apparent that the location and time affected the overall experience. The Committee discussed the upcoming events: Mayor's Fitness Challenge: Now — April 18 • US 380 Bypass Opposition public meeting: March 22 - April 6 7.
