COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 9, 1979
The Prosper City Council met in regular session October 9, 1979 in the city office
with the following members present; Mayor, R. C. Boyer ; Councilmen, Vera Clary,
Danny Webb, Donald Heneau, and Dan Christie.
Others present were the secretary, M. P. Bridges, V. C. Spradley and Cecil Norris.
The Mayor opened the meeting and called for reading of the minutes of the previous
meeting which were approved as read.
The Mayor read from the financial report the k=k balances in the various accounts:
and called attention to the list of checks written during the month of september.
The financial report was accepted.
Workmens' compensation insurance as presented by the secretary was breifly discussed
and found to be too costly.
Copies of the Zoning Book were given to the council members and they were acked
to be thinking of people within the city who might be appointed to serve on a
Zoning Committee.
It was announced that the CPA firm of Kissinger and Kirby would audit the city books
duffing the month of November.
The Mayor stated that the fiscal year for the city is being changed from Feb. 1 through
January 31 to October 1 through September 30.
The Mayor also stated that he had nominated Mr. Sam Roach km as a candidate for
a position on the central tax appraisal board.
Dan Christie moved that the water meter deposit be increased to $40.00. Motion
seconded by Donal Reneau and carried by unanimous vote.
Danny Webb moved that that the re -connect fee on meters be increased to 412.00.
Motion seconded by Dan Christie and carried by unanimous vote.
Dumy Webb moved that V. C. Spradley be employed as water and sewer works operator
at an annual salary of $121000. Motion seconded by Dan Christie and carried by
unanimous vote.
The question of penalties on late water bills was discussed. It was suggested by the
Mayor that names of persons declining to pay penalties be posted.
There bing no further business Dan Christie moved the meeting adjourn - Motion seconded
by Danny Webb and the meeting adjourned.
