As to the matter of salary for V. C. Spradley for work done in the absence of
a water and sewer works operator, -and- after a discussion of the problem,
a motion was made by Grady Smothermon, seconded by Danny Webb, that the salary
be the amount of $785.00 per month- the motibn carried by unanimous vote.
This brings the total paid by the city to $1000.00 per month plus $100.00 to
be used for car expense in performing the duties of city marshall. Mr. Spradley
agreed to this arrangement.
It should be stated here that he is employed on contract basis dating from
April 16, 1979 to a date not exceeding 90 days fromlthe beginning date and
can be terminated by authority of the Mayor of the own of Prosper at any time
during the 90 day period. The contract signed by the Mayor, V. C. Spradley and
Secretary is on file.
The matter of keeping the :.fire trucks locked up was discussed - Grady Smothermon
moved that they J= "not be locked or moved out- after further discussion, this
motion was withdrawn- there appeared to be a friendly understaxzding upon the part
of the firemen and the council.
V. C. Spradley mentioned that some labor might be obtained through the Man Power
program and the P:ayor suggested that this be looked into.

Donal Reneau mentioned that some gravel should be spread in front of the city office.
Motion to adjourn was made by Grady �notherm0n, seconded by Danny Webb and the
meeting adjourned. I

It should be noted that during the week of May 11, The Mayor negotiated with
Dave Hodson to tie onto his water system. This was done :in an emergency situation
because of the city not having water during this week o for a short period of time.

The Prosper city council met in special session May 22nd for the purpose of
discussing the proposed budget for the fiscal year of Feb. 1, 1979 to Jan. 31, 1980.
All members of the council plus the city marshall and secret: -try were present.
There was a very thorough discussion of anticipated revenue from all sources and
each item of anticipated expense based on the preceeding year's revenue and expenses
was followed. Grady Smothermon moved the acceptance of the budget. Motion seconded
by Danny Christie and carried b,r unanimous vote with all members present. It is
to be approved at the next regular meeting of the council. Copy is added to the
