Due to the busy time of the year, the following were present; Mayor
$oy Skelton, era Clary, M. P. Bridges and V. Spradley.
There not being a quorm no business was transacted. V. C. Spradley
spoke of the costs of performing his duties.

The Prosper City Council met in regular session Oct. 3-1 1977 at 8:00 pm
in the city office with the following present: Mayor, koy Skelton:
Councilmen Morris Jackson, T. A. Bailey and Danny Webb. Also,present were
the city secretary, M. P. Bridges, Jaunice Stanton, reporter, Doyce Stanton,
fire cheif and R. I. Hankey.
The meeting was opened by the Mayor who called for reading of the minutes of
the last meeting. Motion made by Danny Webb, seconded by Morris Jackson to
approve the minutes as read. Motion carried by unanimous vote with the three
members present. The financial report was given to all those present.
There followed a lenghty discussion regarding the purchase of a fire truck
from Highland Village: The truck having been seen by several firemen who were in
favor of the purchase. Toy Skelton had made -a person to person campaign to obtain
contributions for the purchase of this truck. The amount collected as of Oct.
llth W $2870.00. Other citizens had promised to make contributions. This
money w,s deposited in the General Fund account at the Prosper State Bank.
A motion wasmade by Morris Jackson, seconded by Danny Webb that the council _
approve the purchase from Highland Village and that should there be a difference
between the amount of the contributions and the purchase price, then the city to
make up the difference. Motion carried unanimously with the three members presents
A motion was made by Danny Webb, seconded by T. A. Bailey that the city pay for
250 feet of 1 1/2 inch hose. .. for the fire truck - Motion carried by unanimous
vote. This to be paid for out of the Revenue Sharing Fund.
kMr. Hankey, whose company collects trash and garbage in the city of Prosper asked
the council for an increase of $1.00 per customer. Motion made by Danny Webb and
seconded by'Morris Jackson to grant the increase on the basis of the renewal of
the contract for 3 years. This w,,s agreed to by Mr. Hankey with the stipulation
that if the cost of living or operational cost rises extensively, he would have
to ask for another increase. The increase will take effect in the December billing.
An agreement is to be drawn up and signed by Mr. Hankey and the Mayor
By the time the council meeting adjourned, Doyce Stanton called to state that
an agreement had been reached with Highland -Village to purchase the fire truck for
the amount of $2500.00 including the lights.
There being no further business, the medting adjourned
