Aug. 9, 1977 Board of-'Jqua]-ization
The Prosper City Council acting as the Board :of Equalization met August
9th, 1977 at 7:30 pin• in the city office with the following pounciI members
present: Major "oy 61celton, Councilmen Morris 'Jackson, T. A. Bailey, Danny "ebb
and Vera Clary. This meeting had been advertised for the benefit of property
owners. The meeting closed at 8:00 without anyone having come to discuss his
or her taxes;.
August 9, 1977 - Council Meeting
The-'rosper C'ty Council met in regular session August 9th, 1977 at 3:00 pm
in the city office with the following members present: Aiayor Roy Skelton,
Councilmen, Morris ' ackson, T. A. Bailey, Danny Webb and Vera Clary. Secretary,
M. P. Bridges. Others present were R. L. Betts, Jaunice Stanton, Bill Loggins.
The S:ayor opened the meeting and asIced for reading of the minutes of the
previous meeting. Motion made by Vera Clary, seconded by Danny `ebb that the
minutes be approved as read. Motion carried unanimously with 4 members present._
The financial report attached to the agenda w s r,vailable to all present.
Mr. Loggins discussed with the council some problems of drainage in the area of
the ball field. A motion was made by Vera Clary, seconded by Danny "ebb that
the Mayor look into the situation to determine the work needed to be done to
solve the problem. I:otion carried by unanimous vote with four members present.
Russell Betts asked the council to pass a resolution concerning the transfer of
title of a strip of land from the C'.ty of Prosper to T. M. Hughes et ux Obiera
Hughes and then to purchase for the sum of one dollar a strip of land from
T. M. Hughes et ux Obiera Hughes. (Copy of the resolution is placed in the minute
book). Danny-6jebb made the motion to pass this resolution, it w,s seconded by
Morris `ackson and carried by unanimous vote with the four members present.
Mr. setts stated that the city has been approved .for 215,,000.
The Annexation Ordinance annexing 41 acres owned by Dan Christie was discussed.
The Mayor read the adendum to this ordinance. A motion to accept the ordinance
with the adendum was made by Danny Webb, seconded by T. A. Bailey and carried by
unanimous with the four members present. The ordinance is numbered 77-1.
After some discussion regarding the probability of the construstion of a stock
barn within the city limits of Prosper, a motion was made by T. A. Bailey and
seconded by Danny Webb that as of this date, Aug. 9th, 1977 any facility
constructfed to house stock shall be located not less than 100 feet from any
adjoining property and the Mayor instructed to contact the city attorney to have

Vera Clary made a motion which wa-s seconded ., ,u� the secretary
inclose with the 1977 tax statements a notice of delinquent takes . Motion
carried by unanimous vote with four members present.
Iiotion to adjourn made by T. A. Bailey, secondied by D. °debb and carried
