The Prosper City Council met in regular session Nov. 9, 1976 at 7:00 pm.
in the city office with the following members present: Mayor, Roy Skeltpm,
Councilmen, R. L. Dalton, Morris Jackson, Danny Webb, T. A. Bailey and Vera
Clary. Also present were Cecil Norris, Jaunice Stanton and Mattie P. Bridges.
The Mayor opened the meeting and called for reading of the minutes of the
previous meeting. Motion made by Danny Oebb, seconded by R. L. Dalton to approve
the minutes as read. Motion carried by unanimous vote by all members present.
The financial report in printed form was given to all present.
Problems of speeding within the city limits were discusseds, and the installation
of more street signs. Motion made by Morris Jackson, seconded by R. L. Dalton
that the city purchase 6 more speed signs. Motion carried by unaminous vote with
all members present: Four signs to be installed on first street and 2 on seventh
street. The signs to limit speed to 20 miles per hour.
Later it was discovered that one sign had been damaged beyond use and the Mayor
suggested that 7 instead of 6 be ordered.
The purchase of fire hydrants with Revenue Sharing funds was discussed. Motion
made by Danny Webb, seconded by R. L. Dalton that the city purchase 3 hydrants
and some 6 inch water main pipe. Motion carried by unanimous vote with all members
present.
A paragraph from a letter from Mr. Rose, Cheif of Construction with the Texas
Water Quality Board was read and discussed. This related to a meeting to be held
in Austin Dec. 16th, 1976 and a request had been made that the city be represented.
It was agreed that a representative of First Southwest Investment Company attend
this meeting in as much as this company is the financial advisor for the city.
Russell Betts, attended a Public hearing called by the Water Quality Board held
in Duncanville November loth. He also attended a meeting in Arlington to gain
information on the new WEPA program.
There being no further business, motion was made by Danny Webb, seconded by
R. L. Dalton that the meeting adjourn. The Meeting adjourned,
