K. 14ullendore, mayor, Wallace Vickers, Cecil Norris and J. T. Johnson (newely appointed) FZU and Mattie P. Bridp:es secretary, present. Ot1_ers present were Juanice Stanton, Doyce Stanton and Art Ninki.....The neeting opened with a prayer by F. K. Mullendor. First or d.er was administering of the oath of office to J. T. Johnson. Vinutes of the ;revious meetings were read. Potion made by Cecil Norris, seconded by J. T. Johnson that the r°inutes be approved as read. P.iotion carried...... Johnson that these bills be paid. Motion carried. F. K. Mullendore reported having attended a meeting held by the Collin County Commissioners' Court when problems of caring for mentally retarded persons for whom assistance might not be available. Ullotion i_iade by Cecil. Norris., seconded by Wallace Vickers that the City of Prosper participate in this program_ on a basis of 5 cents per capita - Prosper being a population of 600 and the cost being 00.00 per year. Motion carried. F. K. Mullendore reported that he had investigated the ownership of lots 19, 20, 21 and 22 - and that the total back taxes being 344.00. Motion made by Cecil Norris and seconded by Wallace Vickers that the city pay these taxes. Motion carried. Protection of the pump at the sewer plant was discussed - possibl* by constructing a small building of exterior plywood. rFotion made by J. T. Johnson, seconded by Cecil Norris th.at such a building be constructed. P.iotion carried. F. K. Mullendore asked the council to make recommendations as to priorities of streets needidg repairs - the work to be done in 1974. It was agreed that second, third and church, streets be included in the 1974 budget for repairs. —The question -of purchasing a pick-up truck for city use was presented by F. K. Mullendore. Motion made by J. T. Johnson, seconded by Cecil Norris that this be done and that the one owned by Jim Daly be purchased. 11otion carried - Truck was purchased Oct. 12, 1973 for the sum of ��'600.00.
