04.07.1969 Town Council MinutesMeeting City Council April 7th, 1969 Minutes: The meeting was called to order by Mayor C.G.Hays.with Charles Webb, Bates Byrom and Wallace vickers Present. The report of the Election Judge Mrs.W.T.Skelton was read and is hereby made a part or these minutes, to wit; candidate Ralph C.Boyer received 35 votes for mayor, candidate C.E.Bell received 34 votes, candidate Lee Gilmer received 34 votes, write in candidate Johnny Johnson received 1 vote for alderman. Charles Webb made a motion seconded by Bates Byrom that the report be accepted and approved., the motion carried. Charles Webb made a motion seconded by Wallace Vickers that the election officials be paid $30.00, the motion was carried. A motion was made by Sates Byrom and seconded by Charles Webb that the Mayor and City Sec. be authorized to sign and deliver to the State Highway department a municipal maintenance ordinance on the FM rd 1193 and on old highway 289 a copy of said ordinance to be put in City File, the motion was carried. Bates Byrom made a motion seconded by Charles WebbDthat the City send letters to J.B.Sterling and Elmer Templin and J.E.Robison in regard to J= the sewer connect fee owed to the Town of Prosperp the motion was c Crried. Mr. Clary was present and was heard inregard to the matter of a 60 foot segment of Church Street adjacent to lot 4 block 3 of the hillside addition to the Town of Prosper. Mr Clary remarked that he had hoped for a full quorum to hear him out on his request for the correction of what he felt was an error in the deeding back of the before said segment of street to the Town of Prosper. He rehearsed his view of the history of the origination of 5th Street and the Hillside addition and,the agreements made thereto both verbally and otherwise, the time was noted by Mr.Clary to be 9: PM and the discussion ensued between he and Mayor C.G.Hays, a distinct difference of opinion was expressed by both parties and a full record of the exchange of discussion being impoosible to record due to the immediate circumstances of verbal exchange. Mr. Clary left the meeting and the council adjourned. City s4c. air L•
