Declaration of Approval of Certain Outdoor EventsTOWN OF PROSPER MAYORAL DECLARATION OF APPROVAL OF CERTAIN OUTDOOR EVENTS WHEREAS, on July 2, 2020, Governor Greg Abbott issued a Proclamation amending Executive Order GA-28 which prohibits most outdoor gatherings in excess of ten (10) people, unless the Mayor of a city or town approves the gathering; and WHEREAS, pursuant to GA-28, as amended, the Mayor may impose certain conditions or restrictions on these events; and WHEREAS, Governor Abbott has issued Executive Order GA-29 which mandates the use of face coverings, with certain exceptions, whenever a person is unable to maintain six feet of social distance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DECLARED BY THE MAYOR OF THE TOWN OF PROSPER, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1 An outdoor event in excess of ten (10) people is hereby approved by the Mayor of the Town of Prosper, and may take place within the Town limits, if the following additional safety measures are strictly adhered to by attendees: 1. Individuals must maintain at least six feet of separation from others outside the individual's household or those who traveled to the event together. 2. If six feet of separation cannot be maintained, individuals must wear a face covering over the nose and mouth in accordance with Executive Order GA-29. 3. Event organizers are required to monitor and encourage compliance with social distancing and face covering requirements. 4. Event organizers are required to complete a Special Event Permit Application if the event meets the Town's definition of a Special Event. SECTION 2 Other restrictions and guidelines issued by the Governor may apply to outdoor events, as attached in Exhibit A. SECTION 3 This Declaration hereby authorizes the use of all lawfully available enforcement tools. SECTION 4 This Declaration shall take effect immediately.
