meeting.

3. Comments by the Public.
None.
4. Report on Library Board update.
Johnson encouraged board members to continue research on Library Foundation that would
support the Prosper Community Library.
5. Report from Library Director.
Scott shared that it was a very successful summer at the library. There were 800+ summer
readers that participated in the summer reading programs.
June had 33 programs with 1,331 in attendance. July had 32 programs with 929 in attendance.
The small dip in attendance for programs this summer due to the new ticketing process that was
used to limit attendance to appropriate levels. The ticketing process was very successful for the
library and patrons and ensured the programs offered weren't overcrowded. Everyone seemed
to adjust to the new system.
New bylaws have been written by town attorney to take out PISD Liaison position from the
Library Board member requirements. Expect to see the new bylaws added into the packet by
October.
Fall 2019 program brochure is out. Lots of great programs for all ages.
November 9th and 1 Oth is the Friends of Prosper Community Library next book sale. Friends
of the Prosper Community members can attend the character breakfast with Elephant and Piggy
on November 9th.
KoHa isn't live yet, but the staff has been trained and Scott has gotten good feedback from it.
Haven't heard back on library budget requests from town. The requests were for more money
to be open Mondays and more money for books and materials for the library.
A Prosper Eagle Scout is taking on the project of revitalizing the Book Trail. He's looking at a
carpenter, roofer, etc. to try to find a structure that will survive in the Texas elements.
Katie and Sharon were promoted to Youth Service Librarians and there will be a part time
position posting soon.
Tribute Care volunteer project is going well. The residents have library cards and the library
brings books to them that they have requested. Could be a specific title or just a genre to subject
they have requested. Once they get a van, they will start traveling to the library. The volunteers
are also helping them to get their library organized so they can easily see what they have.
6. Determine topics for review/discussion at future meetings.
Board members were asked to contribute to the analysis about fundraising in order to continue
discussion.
