CANVASSING BOND ELECTION
THE STATE OF TEXAS §
COUNTIES OF COLLIN AND DENTON §
TOWN OF PROSPER §
WHEREAS,this Town Council ordered an election to be held in said Town on May 14, 2011, on
the propositions hereinafter stated; and
WHEREAS, said Town Council has investigated all matters pertaining to said election, including
the ordering, giving notice, appointing election officers, holding and making returns of said election; and
WHEREAS, the election officers who held said election have duly made the returns of the result
thereof, and said returns have been duly delivered to said Town Council.
WHEREAS, it is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this
Resolution was adopted was open to the public, and public notice of the time, place and purpose of said
meeting was given, all as required by Chapter 551, Texas Government Code.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
PROSPER, TEXAS:
1. That the Town Council officially finds and determines that said election was duly called,that
proper notice of said election was duly given, that proper election officers were duly appointed prior to
said election,that said election was duly held, that the Town has complied with the Federal Voting Rights
Act and the Texas Election Code, that due returns of the result of said election have been made and
delivered, and that the Town Council has duly canvassed said returns, all in accordance with law and the
Resolution calling said election.
2. That the Town Council officially finds and determines that the following votes were cast at
said election, on the submitted PROPOSITIONS by the resident, qualified electors of said Town, who
voted at the election:
PROPOSITION NO. 1
VOTES FOR 453 ) THE ISSUANCE OF $1,250,000 TAX BONDS FOR
DESIGN AND SITE ACQUISITION FOR A MULTI-
) PURPOSE MUNICIPAL FACILITY FOR TOWN
VOTES AGAINST 217 ) HALL AND OTHER MUNICIPAL SERVICES,
WITH ANY SURPLUS TO BE USED FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.
PROPOSITION NO. 2
VOTES FOR 461 ) THE ISSUANCE OF $450,000 TAX BONDS FOR
DESIGN AND SITE ACQUISITION FOR A PUBLIC
WORKS FACILITY, WITH ANY SURPLUS TO BE
VOTES AGAINST 211 ) USED FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.
PROPOSITION NO. 3
VOTES FOR 508 ) THE ISSUANCE OF $3,850,000 TAX BONDS FOR
DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF POLICE AND
FIRE DEPARTMENT STATIONS AND FACILITIES
VOTES AGAINST 167 ) TO IMPROVE AND EXPAND THE TOWN'S
PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM.
PROPOSITION NO. 4
VOTES FOR 420 )
THE ISSUANCE OF $6,200,000 TAX BONDS FOR
PARKS, TRAILS, RECREATIONAL FACILITIES
VOTES AGAINST 253 ) AND A PARK ADMINISTRATION FACILITY.
PROPOSITION NO. 5
VOTES FOR 537 )
THE ISSUANCE OF $13,290,000 TAX BONDS FOR
STREET AND ROAD IMPROVEMENTS.
VOTES AGAINST 135 )
3. That the Town Council officially finds, determines and declares the result of said
election to be that the aforesaid PROPOSITION NOS. 1-5 have received a favorable majority
vote, and that such PROPOSITIONS therefore have passed, and that the bonds authorized by the
aforesaid PROPOSITION NOS. 1-5 may be issued and the aforesaid bond tax supporting said
bonds may be levied by the Town.
3. The Mayor of said Town has approved and hereby approves the aforesaid Resolution; that the
Mayor and the Town Secretary of said Town hereby declare that their signing of this Certificate shall
constitute the signing of the attached and following copy of said Resolution for all purposes.
