An Ordinance of the City of Prosper Prescribing
Rates and Charges for Local Exchange Telephone Service Furnished
by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
WHEREAS, Southwestern Bell Telephone Company has appeared
before the City Commission and has shown that the rates and charges
for local exchange telephone service heretofore prescribed need a
minor adjustment to make uniform its charges for certain items of
service and equipment within the various exchanges which it serves,
and
410 WHEREAS, the following schedule of rates will not produce
for said Company more than a fair return on the value of its said
property,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF PROSPER:
Section 1 : Southwestern Bell Telephone Company shall place
in effect the following schedule of rates for local exchange, tele-
phone service on its first billing date after final passage of this
ordinance :

(a) The rate for a flat rate PBX trunk is one and one-
half times the rate for one party business flat
rate service .

Section 2 : That authority to increase the charge for
local messages from coin box telephones to ten cents (100 ) per
message is hereby granted, to become effective when the Tele-
phone Company completes equipment modifications necessary to the
due rendition of telephone service from such coin box telephones
on this basis . With the making effective of a charge of ten cents
for local messages from such coin box telephones, the rate to the
subscriber to semi-public coin box telephone service shall be
eight and three-quarters cents (8 3/40 ) per message for calls over
the daily guarantee and ten cents (100 ) per message for calls under
the daily guarantee .
Section 3: All ordinances heretofore passed by the City
Commission of the City of Prosper establishing rates and charges
for telephone service are hereby repealed.
Section 4: Nothing in this ordinance contained shall be
construed now or hereafter as limiting or modifying, in any manner,
the right and power of the city under the law to regulate the rates
and charges of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
