03.08.2012 Parks & Rec Minutes1. Call to Order/Roll Call. MINUTES Town of Prosper Municipal Chambers 108 W. Broadway, Prosper, Texas Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was called to order at 6:01 p.m. by Chairman Chris Sanchez. Members present include: Chris Sanchez, Woody Adams, Barbara Newell, Brad Black, Barbara Cottone, Chuck Stuber, and Hope Malone. Staff members present include: Wade Harden. 2. Consider and act upon approval of the minutes from the February 9, 2012 meeting. Hope Malone motioned to approve the minutes with corrections to item nine, with Hope Malone as the second on the motion and item eleven, with Hope Malone making to motion to adjourn and the adjournment time be 7:11 p.m., seconded by Woody Adams. Motion approved by a vote of 7-0. 3. Comments by the Public. None. 4. Consider and act upon awarding the Prosper Parks Right -of - Way Maintenance bid. Woody Adams motioned to award the Bid to V&A, seconded by Brad Black. Motion was approved by a vote of 7-0. Chuck Stuber noted he would be in favor of the increasing how the dollar amount of the bid is weighted when establishing the bid evaluation criteria. 5. Discussion related to a BMX track. Town staff introduced Michael Beaty who discussed his interest in developing a BMX track in the Town of Prosper. Mr. Beaty noted his ability to construct the track if the Town had a location for it to be constructed. No action was taken on this item. 6. Consider and act upon a proposal from Toby Flanigan to operate a North Texas Baseball (NTXBB) tournament in Frontier Park. Barbara Newell motioned to approve the tournament over Memorial Day weekend as proposed with a fee of $1,000 per day, seconded by Brad Black. Motion approved by a vote of 7-0. 7. Consider and act upon a name for the loop street in Frontier Park. Hope Malone motioned to name the loop street Greenwood Lane in honor of the Greenwood family, seconded by Chuck Stuber. Motion approved by a vote of 7-0. S. Informational items. Town staff noted the Windmill Playground site plan had been approved by the Town Council, following the recommendation of the Parks & Recreation Board. 9. Adjourn. Chuck Stuber motioned to adjourn, seconded by Woody Adams. Motion was approved by a vote of 7-0. Meeting adjourned at 7:00 P.M. Park and Recreation Board Secretary 2
