Prosper Planning & Zoning Commission

Tuesday, June 5, 2007 6:00 p.m.
Commissioners present included: Mark DeMattia, Ronni Gallup, George Dupont, Marcus Ruark, Jessica
Arce, and Reno Jones.
Commissioner Troy Brock arrived at 6:16 p.m.
Staff present included: Chris Copple, Development and Parks Planner
2. Consider and act upon minutes from the following Planning & Zoning Commission meetings:
• May 15, 2007 Regular Meeting
Motioned by Dupont, seconded by Ruark to approve item 2. Motion approved 6-0.
• REGULAR AGENDA
3. A public hearing to consider and act upon a request to rezone 0.7t acre (104 East Broadway),
located on the south side of Broadway Street, 200t feet east of Coleman Street, from Single
Family-15 (SF-15) to Downtown Office (DTO). (Z07-12).
Copple reviewed the zoning request with the Commission.
Motioned by Ruark, seconded by Gallup to open the public hearing. Motion approved 6-0.
Brock arrived.
Michelle and Joe Martinez, the applicant, discussed the request with the Commission. The applicant stated
they agreed with Town staff s recommendation to table the public hearing to the August 21, 2007 meeting to
allow the Comprehensive Plan to be amended to address the areas in the Old Town Core District that are
suitable for residential, office, retail, or commercial development.
Don DeValle, resides at 109 East 3`d Street, would prefer if the property was screened with an eight foot
wooden fence.
Motioned by Ruark, seconded by Dupont to table the public hearing to the August 21, 2007 meeting to allow
the Comprehensive Plan to be amended to address the areas in the Old Town Core District that are suitable
for residential, office, retail, or commercial development. Motion approved 7-0
4. A presentation by James Hardie Building Products.
• Dan Tresch and Sharla Davenport, representing James Hardie Building Products, presented on sustainable
building materials, residential design including traditional neighborhood design, setback, and streetscapes.

5. Possibly direct Town Staff to schedule topic(s) for discussion at a future meeting.

Motioned by Ruark, seconded by Brock to adjourn. Motion approved 7-0.
