The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. Committee Members Present: Chris Wardlaw, Chair Melissa Randle, Vice -Chair Don Perry Iris Meneley Matt Nohr Gavin Hernandez Mike Pettis Teague Griffin Charles Cotten MINUTES Downtown Advisory Committee Monday, July 6, 2026 Staff Members Present: Mario Canizares, Town Manager Chuck Ewings, Assistant Town Manager David Hoover, Development Services Director Randy Breeding, Parks Planning Manager 2. Consider and act upon the minutes from the June 1, 2026, Downtown Advisory Committee meeting. (RB) This item was tabled to the August 3, 2026, DTAC Meeting 3. Citizen Comments. There were no Citizen Comments 4. Small Area Plan. (DH) David Hoover reviewed the dates to develop the small area plan, providing the dates (Aug 18, 19, and 20) and stating business/property owners would be invited, likely on day 2, to provide feedback on initial ideas prior to final recommendations determined on day 3 of the charrette. 5. Trees in Downtown Plaza (RB) Chuck Ewings informed the committee that several of the trees in the downtown plaza were conflicting with set up of some events. To improve programming, it was recommended to remove three of the trees to provide additional area to provide additional area for stages and/or vendors. The committee agreed this would improve the events and supported the proposed changes. 6. Update and discussion on Downtown Improvement Projects. a. Additional Parking at EDC, Broadway, McKinley (CE) Parking improvements and the monumentation projects are scheduled to be complete by the end of August. Page 1 of 2 b. Historical Markers (RB) Historical markers should be installed soon. c. Downtown Monumentation (RB) Construction of the monuments is in progress. 7. Downtown Events Update. (RB) Recent Events: • Stars, Stripes & Prosper Nights — June 12 • Library Parade — July 2 • Pride in the Sky — July 2 Future Events: • Prosper On Tap Series/Plaza Activation Mario Canizares and Chuck Ewings provided an update on Special Events. The committee was notified that the Prosper on Tap Series is being discontinued and staff will provide additional ideas to activate the Downtown Plaza this fall. 8. Joint Meeting with Community Engagement Committee (CEC). Staff continues to identify dates for a joint meeting with DTAC and the CEC. 9. Requests for future agenda items. No items were discussed. 10.
