2. Consider and Act Upon the minutes of the December 3, 2025, Mayor's Youth
Advisory Council Meeting (JH)
Aubrey Beaird made a motion and Emory Crownover seconded the motion to
approve the December 3, 2025 MYAC minutes. The motion was approved
unanimously.

3. Hot Topics with Mayor Bristol. (DB)
Mayor Bristol welcomed the council and reminded them of the Mayor's challenge from
the previous meeting. The challenge asked the council to attend the Prosper
Christmas Festival and bring both good and bad feedback. The Council spoke of
enjoying volunteering with the Christmas Shoppe. Other feedback included was more
signage of handheld versions of the festival map would have been appreciated.
Mayor Bristol also shared with the council that 2026 is the 250th anniversary of the
USA and how the Town is actively working to roll this celebration in with existing
events as well as stand-alone events.
4. MYAC Hot Topics (JH)
Mayor Bristol opened the floor for the council to present any hot topics of their own.
The Council inquired about increased law enforcement presence recently. Mr.
Canizares shared updates on the a -bike registrations and training at the Town
onboards more officers. Mayor Bristol and Mr. Canizares also shared what the
Town is doing to prepare for the upcoming winter storm expected this weekend.
5. Municipal Government Careers and Degree Plans with Ted Benavides
Professor Ted Benavides gave an overview of degree plans that the University of
Texas at Dallas offers for students interested in the public sector for work. Mr.
Benavides also shared his experiences as City Manager of Dallas and Denton and
his advice for municipalities as they grow.
6. Voter Registration Initiative (JH)
The Council remains in favor of an initiative with PISD schools to present the
importance of registration and voting in local elections. It was decided that this
initiative will be the responsibility of the Information and Outreach subcommittee.
7. MYAC Subcommittee Updates (JH)
Mr. Hart gave an overview of the subcommittees for the 2026 Class. These include
Information and Outreach, Operations and Partnerships and Events and
Involvement. He designated that each subcommittee has their own respective chair.
Each subcommittee chair is as follows: Information and Outreach — Molly Curtis,
Operations and Partnerships — Benjamin Hopes, and Events and Involvement — Om
Gaddad. Emory Crownover made a motion to approve the subcommittees with Om
Gaddad seconding the motion. The motion was approved unanimously.
8. Requests for Future Agenda Items (MP)
The Council requested the following for the February meeting:

9. Adjourn
The meeting was adjourned at 6:52 p.m.
