11.19.25 Mayor's Youth Advisory Council Agenda PacketPage 1 of 2 ] Welcome to the Mayor's Youth Advisory Council Meeting. Addressing the Mayor's Youth Advisory Council: Those wishing to address the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) must complete the Public Comment Form located on the Town website or in the meeting room. Please submit this form to the Board Chair or a staff person recording the minutes for the MYAC prior to the meeting. When called upon, please state your name and address for the record. In compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the MYAC may not deliberate or vote on any matter that does not appear on the agenda. The MYAC, however, may provide statements of fact regarding the topic, request the topic be included as part of a future meeting, and/or refer the topic to Town staff for further assistance. Citizens and other visitors attending MYAC meetings shall observe the same rules of propriety, decorum, and good conduct applicable to members of the MYAC. Any person making personal, impertinent, profane or slanderous remarks or who becomes boisterous while addressing the MYAC or while attending the meeting shall be removed from the room, if so directed by the Mayor or presiding officer, and the person shall be barred from further audience before the MYAC during that session of the meeting. Hot Topics with Mayor David Bristol Mayor Bristol detailed the upcoming Veterans Honor Run event as well the upcoming Bond Election to take place in early November. Also highlighted was the growing problem of e-motorcycles causing dangerous situations and damage and upcoming changes to ordinances to combat this. Councilmember Hodges spoke of how it is to be a Council member in Prosper as the longest standing councilmember currently. MYAC Hot Topics The Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council was asked if they had any hot topics for Mayor Bristol. They did not have any at this time. 4. Election for Chair, Co-Chair, Secretary and Photographer Mrs. Petty talked about how electing the officers was run for the 2025 Class. Ms. Petty also walked the Council through what each position was and the responsibility attached. The Council opted to do it very similarly with members pitching themselves to the Council for the desired position and the Council voting. After the pitches were heard by the Council, they elected: Joshua Hart as Chairperson with 16 in favor, Jonathan Jones as Vice Chairperson with 15 in favor, Ava Tran as Secretary with 10 in favor and Emory Crownover as the Event/Meeting Photographer with 6 in favor. 5. Vote on 2026 MYAC Shirt Design Mrs. Petty showed designs for t-shirts to the Council that included the original design and two new revamped designs. When asked what the Council would vote for as the 2026 design, it was unanimously decided on the revamped design. 6. MYAC Scope & Purpose Discussion (MP) Ms. Petty shared the goals and objectives that have been set forth from past MYAC classes. She asked the Council if they would be interested in including a “Nonprofit Profile” to future meetings where appropriate since the Council has shown great interest in volunteerism to benefit the Prosper community. The Council unanimously agreed to invite a nonprofit to future meetings when time allows. 7. Town Hall Tour (TR) The Council was given a tour of Prosper Town Hall by Communications Director, Todd Rice. 8. Consider and Act Upon the minutes of the September 30, 2025, Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council Meeting (MP) Krishitha Pingeli made a motion and Jonathan Jones seconded the motion to approve the September 30, 2025 MYAC minutes. The motion was approved unanimously. 9. Requests for Future Agenda Items • Mayor’s Challenge: What are the 17 amendments that will be on the ballot in November and would you vote yes or no for them? • E-Bike and e-motorcycle safety and education campaign • Subcommittees and objectives Page 3 of 3 10. Hot Topics with Mayor David Bristol (DB) Mayor Bristol asked each Councilmember to share something they enjoyed or something they learned a part of the MYAC. Answers ranged from understanding the scope of local government, to environmental needs for Prosper, a need for more recreational courts and the need for volunteer opportunities for the youth within Prosper. Multiple Councilmembers brought up a need to include different cultures in Prosper’s events. 3. MYAC Subcommittee Updates (WH) The MYAC Subcommittees each gave an update on their ongoing projects. For the community service subcommittee, they are looking to raise money for Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors using social media and graphics provided by the Town of Prosper. The public relations subcommittee continues to explore ways to get information out to their peers. 4. Consider and Act upon the minutes of the February 26, 2025, Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council meeting (MP) Om Gaddad made a motion and Drew Beitel seconded the motion to approve the February 26, 2025 Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council minutes. The motion was approved unanimously. 5. Feedback on MYAC Year (MP) Mrs. Petty asks the Council for feedback regarding the first full year of MYAC. She asked the Council how they felt about the size of the class, if they enjoyed seeing different buildings besides Town Hall, and what they would have liked to see for future classes. Feedback shared included getting to know one another earlier, networking opportunities such as the ice cream social being open to alumni, asked for stricter attendance rules, and added time to meetings so they can better work towards their time sensitive goals. 6.
