Tom Jackson - Zoning; Proposal: Mr. Tom Jackson, a developer from
Dallas ..�me_..
t with the City Council to discuss a mobile home
development he would like to place on 80 acres of land just
southwest of the current City Limits. Mr. Jackson outlined Ijis
proposal, including existing development pictures from other towns
and studies he had researched to cover impact of the development on
both the City and the School. His park would require City sewer and police
protection, but he stated they would construct their own water supply then
give it to the City. As the property in question is not inside the
existing City Limits and does not border Lhe City Limits at any one
point, the City could not annex the property. However, at the
request of Mr. Jackson, a work session of the Council was called for
Friday, February 22, 1985 at 7:00.

shop is to build a new shop building. He then outlined to the
Council his plans for theconstruction of the building, giving the
dimensions, material type and number of employees. Upon the advice
of the City Attorney, the Council advised Mr. Niswanger of the proper
course of action to apply for re -zoning. First, he must supply the
City with a list of names of the property owners within 200 feet.
Letters, from the City, must then be mailed, notifying them of the
request and the date set for a public hearing on the request. Then
a public hearing is held. Mr. Niswanger agreed to the provisions.
A Public Hearing was scheduled for Tuesday, March 12, 1985 at 7:00 pm.

for April 6, 1985. Cecil Norris seconded the motion. Motion
carried.
Bills: Cecil Norris made a motion to approve the payment of the
bills. Doyce Stanton seconded the motion. Motion caried.
The City Council, at this time, entered into closed session with
the City Attorney for the discussion of legal action on the Jim
Savoy suit.
