05.16.2000 Town Council Minutes (Special)Special City Council Meeting Tuesday, May 16, 2000 City Hall, 109 S. Main, Prosper 7:00 P.M. Those Present: Mayor Coffman, Jim Dunmire, Larry Tracey, Charles Niswanger, Janet Phillips, and Michael Perry. Call to order: Mayor Coffman called the meeting to order. Second Public Hearing_for L4 ima: No comments from audience. Public hearing was closed at 7:20 p.m. Second Public licarine for Highland McaijqA!i. Phase 2 and 3: No comments from audience. Public hearing was closed at 7:22 p.m. Oath of office for newly elected officials: Town Secretary, Jennifer Finley, administered the oath of office to the newly elected council members: Charles Niswanger, Michael Perry, and Janet Phillips. Chuck Green — I)isemssion on Property on CR 80: Mr. Green wants to sub -divide his property and put in a temporary road. Mayor Coffman recommended that Mr. Green bring the council a more descriptive plat of the property and re -read the Sub Division Ordinance to see what sections apply to his property. No action was taken and Mr. Green will be put on the June agenda. Discussion and nossible action on t)urchasin"tyLI!il,[tqiz software: Mayor Coffman requested that the Town Secretary check references on the company who is of the software and report back to the council at the next available council meeting. No action was taken. Phil Jobe�avvroval of vreliminary Mat for Willow Ridge Ad(fition: Motion by Jim Dunmire and seconded by Janet Phillips to approve the Preliminary Plat, subject to Tim Morris' recommendations. The council will review the road impact recommendations made by Mr. Morris and the plat is subject to final approval. Motion carried. Action on renewal of Franchise Ordinance with Classic Cable: tabled. Scott Fisher — re uest for variance for storave buildine at 1206 Chandler Circle and Chris Peters — reaue-st fbr variance for izarage.at 1249 Chandler Circle: Motion by Janet Phillips and seconded by Larry Tracey to grant a variance for the following reasons: • The properties fall within an existing sub division The materials of the buildings are within the provisions of the deed restrictions • The properties are not immediately on SH 289. The existing out buildings within the subdivision falls within the grandfather clause. The property owners do not need to request a variance for their existing buildings. Motion carried.
