Work Session of the Prosper Town Council

1. Call to Order/Roll Call. Mayor Dunmire called the meeting to order. Those present: Mayor Jim
Dunmire, Larry Tracey, Charles Niswanger, Michael Perry and Russell Kaker. Charles Niswanger
was not present for roll call but arrived at 6:39pm. Mayor Pro -Tem Jeff Walker was not present. Also
present: Town Administrator Jennifer Finley, Administrative Assistant Kelly Reed and Town
Secreta r Amber Phillips.
2. Review and discuss items posted on the March 11, 2003, Regular Council A-enda. Mayor
Dunmire invited the Council to ask questions regarding items on the Regular Agenda.
Jennifer Finley clarified the 2002 Property Taxes collected to date.
Jennifer gave clarification regarding Item 3.e. of the Consent Agenda. She stated that SBC
Southwestern Bell Representative Dalene Buhl, had requested that the smaller communities pass a
resolution enabling the deployment of broadband in less populated areas. The resolution would be
presented to the Texas Legislature to help smaller communities gain access to high-speed internet.
Michael Perry expressed concern regarding the Sales Tax Comparison Report which indicated a
current revenue collection under budget. Charles Niswanger explained that he and Jennifer had
been working with Go -Crete regarding potential annexation. if Go -Crete annexed, it would bring the
sales tax collection back in line with the budgeted amount.
3. Review and discuss the following devartmenticommittee reports:
a. Police Department
b. Fire Department
C. Prosper E.D.C.
d. Parks & Recreation Committee
Michael Perry questioned the possibility of adding the 4AAB (EDC) Election to the May 3, 2003
Ballot. Staff agreed to contact the Secretary of State regarding the possibility.
4. Adjourn.. Mayor Dunmire adjourned the meeting at 6:59pm.
