Recreation •Paws on Broadway •Saturday, April 27, 9:00a.m. – 12:00p.m. •Event held on Broadway St. •Vendors and dog activities Recreation •Christmas Display Services •RFP 2024-15-A Bid awarded to Christmas Light Co •Display services include exterior of Town Hall, 30’ Christmas Tree, decorated trees and light poles along Main St. and Broadway •Trees along Main St. and Broadway will be displayed annually •Contract being presented on April 16 Town Council Meeting Gates of Prosper Park Development •Plans are under final Town Engineering Staff review. Construction should start within the next several months. •This first phase will have a loop trail and benches. For now, no pavilion or other more developed amenities, but those should come later. •This is a first phase of what may be a larger park space. Park Development: NORTH Park Planning: Downtown Park Phase I Development •Funding has been identified and approved for phase I design. Due to resident input from the survey, staff recommends the park have fewer programmed elements and provides a more passive recreation experience. •No playground, pickleball or fishing piers. Recommended elements are a loop trail, several benches, picnic tables, and a small playground. •The reduced scope will lower the original estimated cost for park development. The current construction budget is $750,000. •The design phase is scheduled to begin in 2024. Park Development: Lakewood Park Development •The parking lot is fully completed. •Work on the electrical trenching and piers for the lighting is underway. •Contractor is preparing sub-grade and form work for various sections of walkway and trail. View South Pouring Parking Lot Park Development: Raymond Community Park •Bids for the second GMP package were opened yesterday. •An ‘official’ pre-construction meeting happened on Tuesday. •Grading work is ongoing, and we have ballfields taking shape. Progress Park Planning: Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan Project Update •The Advisory Committee and Focus Group meetings have been completed. •The Survey document is finalized and will go live on April 17 and be open through May 19. Please get the word out! You have a copy in your packets. •Benchmarking is the next step and it’s currently underway. •Damage from storm at Hayes Park. •Sidewalk construction at Hayes Park underway. •Staff removes decomposed granite from Hayes Park. Parks Operations assists the Parks and Recreation department in setting up pickleball court boundaries. Director: ZapStand •ZapStand is a ‘smart’ Automated External Defibrillator (AED) delivery system •Proposing 4 units now – Frontier (2), Raymond, and Lakewood parks •Units are leased •One time cost $2500 / unit •Maintenance Fee of $2500 / unit per year •If approved by PARB, staff will take to CIP Subcommittee April 29 Director: •PROSMP Survey – April 17 – May 19 •Budget Time! - Due May 3 •Potential Future Park Naming Opportunities •Next Meeting – May 9 @ 6:00pm Request for future agenda items.
