council's ideas included:
• Education on Culture and Jobs
• Public Job Fair
• Public Culture Fair
The mayor then gave an overview of the latest hot topics of the town including the
Flock Camera Safety System, local infrastructure development, the Capital
Improvement Plan, new businesses, the Downtown Advisory Committee, Citizens
Academy, and upcoming town -wide events. The council then circled back to the
important topics or problems they thought of in the town. The problems included:
• Voter registration, especially in school board elections
• An appealing social media presence for education
• Educating youth on duties of the mayor
The council considered possible solutions for these problems such as a youth -run
social media page, a series about the daily work of Town Council members and
bringing in school broadcast teams to spread the word about MYAC.

for the meetings or let them run until the discussion finished. The council proposed a
90-minute time frame, setting the designated end time to be 7:OOpm. William He called
for a motion, and Maryn Shellberg seconded the motion. All voted in favor, the time for
meetings is now set to 90 minutes.
6. Brainstorm ideas for MYAC programs, projects, initiatives, and goal -setting
exercise. (RB)
Robyn Battle and Devon Jett led the council in a goal -setting exercise to focus ideas
and set priorities for the inaugural and future council classes. The goals were:
• Goal 1: Offer Guidance to the Town Council on youth -related issues
• Goal 2: Assist with special initiatives
• Goal 3: Design and implement youth -centered events
• Goal 4: Serve as ambassadors for the Town of Prosper
A 5th Goal was then proposed: Participate in service opportunities in the community.
William He motioned to add this to the goals, Rithika Chakrapani seconded the motion,
all were in favor. William He then motioned to approve all goals, Rithika Chakrapani
seconded the motion, and all were in favor of approval. The MYAC moved on to define
each of these goals, coming up with projects or initiatives they could create to
accomplish them. Their ideas included:
• Goal 1: Mental health awareness
• Goal 2: Accessibility initiatives for disabled residents, partnerships
with other councils/foundations
• Goal 3: STEM -centered education programs, partnership with other existing
youth organizations, increasing social media presence, field day, cultural night,
career night, MYAC education videos
• Goal 4: Visit local businesses, participate in focus groups
• Goal 5: Volunteering with community service at charities or food banks,
creating a MYAC service project, partnering with Prosper Young Ladies
