1. Call to Order / Roll Call.
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m

Recess into Closed Session in compliance with Section 551.001 et seq. Texas Government Code, as
authorized by the Texas Open Meetings Act, to deliberate regarding:
Section 551.076 — To deliberate the deployment or specific occasions for implementation of security
personnel or devices at Town Hall.
Reconvene in a Regular Session and take any action necessary as a result of the Closed Session.
3. Consider and act upon the minutes of the May 11, 2023, Parks and Recreation Board meeting.
Motion to approve by Benson, Seconded by Bledsoe. Motion Approved 7-0.
4. Comments from the public.
There were no comments from the public.
5. Receive staff updates: Recreation, Park Development, Park Operations, and Director.
Recreation:
The Mayor's Fitness Challenge Summer Session will run from June 1 — August 31. The Fall Session will
run from September 1 — November 30'h.
June 3rd was the second annual pickleball tournament, P-Town throw down. There were 17 total teams
with three different divisions. The next tournament will take place in 2024.
Kaylynn Stone is now the Special Event Coordinator.

Park DBVeionment:
Pecan Grove Park:
Little status change since last month. The remaining items include wall repair at the south end of the pond
and sod planting.
Staff is still working to replace the water pump for the irrigation system. No sod until this has been
resolved.
Tanners Mill Park:
Park development is complete. The staff has been working with the contractor to improve the turf in the
open areas west of the playground and basketball courts. Residents are enjoying the new amenities.
Raymond Community Park:
Adjustments requested by Town Engineers have been completed. The CMAR provided updated cost
estimates on June 6. The consultant is moving ahead with design development.
Park Operations:
• Town Hall Landscape was updated.
• Whitley Place Bulk Dump pick up.
• Sports Seasons have ended.
• Plant material will not change until September. When Fire Station Central opens, Park Operations
will be taking over the landscape along with a few new medians.

The CAPRA Review Team (CRT) visited with Town Staff on May 24 & 25. The visitation concluded with
the Accreditation Team recommending us for accreditation. Dan Baker and Barbara Cottone will attend
the hearing during NRPA Conference on October 8 to determine the final approval.
Discover Downtown: Coffee & Chrome will take place July 22, 2023, in the Town Hall Parking Lot. Coffee
will be available, and Mimosa's will be for sale. Exhibitor applications and Vehicle Registration
applications are open online.
The 2023 Prosper Christmas Festival Platinum Sponsors are Texas Health Prosper & Sinacola. The town
is accepting applications for Hometown & Artisans. The applications are open online. The Christmas
Festival will take place on December 2, 2023.
6. Request for future agenda items.
Election for Vice Chair.
Knox asked about the Frisbee Golf Course. Furr stated that some of the Basket locations will need to be
changed with the first street widening. Signage has not yet been delivered. Knox asked if a Disc Golf Map
could be made with labeled numbers on the course. Knox asked where parking should be. Furr stated
that due to road construction, Legacy would be the safest option.
