A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF PROSPER, TEXAS,
HEREBY REVISING THE BOARD CONFIGURATION OF THE PROSPER
COMMUNITY LIBRARY BOARD.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF PROSPER, TEXAS:
SECTION 1: The Town of Prosper. Texas. hereby revises the board
configuration of the Prosper Community Library Board, as hereto attached.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall take effect upon passage.

Section 100—Governance
Statement of Policy
100- Legal Entry and Foundation
The Prosper Community Library (henceforth referred to as the Community Library) and its
service is an endeavor of the Town of Prosper (henceforth referred to the Town). The Town
shall direct the operations of the Community Library through the Prosper Community Library
Board (henceforth referred to as the Library Board).
101- Prosper Library Board
The Community Library Board is charged with the management of the Library and is a
committee of the Town.
101.1- Membership of the Library Board
The Library Board shall be composed of five (5) members including the Superintendent
of Schools, a one (1) member of the Town staff, two three (23) members appointed by
the Town Council, and one (1) two (2) members appointed by the PISD Superintendent.
Board of Trustees.
101.2-Term of Office of the Library Board
The Library Board, except the Town staff member, shall serve two (2) year terms,with
two (2) members, one (1)Town and one (1) school appointed ach y ar in•September to
begin serving in October. Two (2) members of the initial board shall serve a one (1) year
term to initiate the two (2) year staggered terms. Members appointed by the Town
Council will serve the initial one (1) year term.
Any expired term shall be filled by appointment by the group responsible for the
position in question.
101.3- Duties of the Library Board
The Library Board shall be charged with the management of the Community Library.
Management duties shall include, but not be limited to,the following:
' Establish written policies and rules of operation for the management and operation
of the library. These policies must be ratified by a majority vote of the Town Council.
' Select, employ, and evaluate the Town Librarian in accord with the policy of the
Community Library as stated in Section 300.
■ Submit an annual report, prepared by the Town Librarian, to the Town Council and
seek input from both on the management of the library.
' Prepare, with assistance of the Town Librarian, an annual budget.
