05.21.15 Library Board MinutesTOWN OF SPE Prosper is a place where everyone matters. 1. Call to Order / Roll Call. Minutes Regular Meeting of the Library Board Reynolds Middle School - Community Library 700 N. Coleman Road, Prosper, Texas Thursday, May 21, 2015, 6:00 pm. The meeting was called to order at 6:02 pm by Library Board Member, Chair, Amber Bowden and Vice -Chair, Janet Hudson. Board members included: Lucy Towle; Sherilyn Bird; Jamie Pouster; Chris Sanchez. Jennifer Stice was absent. PISD Liaison: Richelle O'Neil. Staff present: Leslie Scott, Library Director. Public guest — Mayor Ray Smith. 2. Consider and act upon approval of the minutes from the April 16, 2015, Library Board meetings. Motion to approve by Bowden, Chair accepted by acclimation. Approved 6-0. 3. Comments by the Public. None. 4. Report on Library Board update. Library survey is up and running. Corrections made and completed. Sixty people have taken the survey as of the Library board meeting. The survey is advertised on several of the town's social media sites. The Director wrote an article in the local paper discussing the library survey. Print versions available at the Library. 5. Report from PISD District Librarian Richelle O'Neil. Community Library and PISD Library ILS has been separated. 6. Report from Library Director Leslie Scott. Library statistics remained constant even during Apollo ILS migration. Scott and Alderton attended Texas Library Association Conference. Over 200 visitors signed Signature Scroll during the Party in the Park on April 18, 2015. The scroll will be added to the time capsule. Library Programs were very successful with numerous participants. Received notification for the Book Festival Grant through Texas Library Association for $2,365.40 to purchase graphic novels. Shelving will be purchased to house the graphic novels. The Edge Grant provided: three laptops and two iPads. Texas State Library and Archives notified of accreditation approval per ILL connection live in 2015. The library Page 1 of 2 will offer Inter -Library Loans per OCLC in 90-120 days. One Book, One Town book will be Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand. Young adult selection a teen edition of the same novel and the Children's book is Wonder. Summer program launch is June 13, 2015. 7. Determine topics for review/discussion at future meetings. Library survey results will be discussed. Update on Summer programs. 8. Informational items. None. 9. Adjourn. Motioned by Bowden, seconded by Sanchez to adjourn. Approved 6-0.
